A note to my dad

I never thought I would be sat down trying to find the words to describe my dad but here I am and I am going to give it a whirl.
When I think of my dad I remember: Sand in my shoes from all the fun days spent at Sennen beach, free roast dinners at the Swordfish, foot massages in exchange for sweets and, most importantly of all, I remember music.
Always lots of music!
In my eyes my daddy was a rockstar, playing covers of the Waterboys (amongst other folky greats!). He had many bands but the one that I remember was 'The Wot Band' (as pictured above).
I loved listening to my dad strum on his guitar, humming along to a good tune!
His most consistent job was as a daffodil pickers - returning to the fields frequently in the summer! I remember calling home 'sick' from school one day - when my dad came to pick me up in his brand new swanky Mazda; the next day at school, everyone asked me what my dad did for a living and I said 'he's a daffodil picker!' They were all pretty shocked (and amused!).
I am pretty convinced that my dads love for the daffs is the reason for my favourite colour being yellow!
My daddy died on Sunday (17/03/2013) - only my dad would go on St Patricks Day!
I know that my dad was very, VERY loved and couldn't make an enemy if he tried!
"Some men born rich, some men born poor but they're rich in other ways" .. my daddy was certainly rich with friends!

I love you daddy, you will always be remembered!

Rainbow Run

So as some of you will know, I work for The Children's Hospice South West which is a charity aiming to "build precious memories for families whose children are living with life-limiting or life threatening conditions". We have three hospices in England, our most recent opened in 2011 in St Austell, Cornwall.
Part of our fundraising committee have come up with a brilliant idea (inspired by a similar idea in America). It is called the RAINBOW RUN and I encourage you to take a look at the video linked above.
For more information about the event and the charity please head on over to:

Thank you, Mx

Where have I been?

I have been away for a while, I am sorry! I feel like I neglect a part of myself when I am away from my blog for too long but, unfortunately, you have to work hard if you want to sit on your laptop all night long looking on the internet for props for your next photo shoots!!
Upcoming shoots will include my very first bridal shoot (for which I shall be making the dress myself!!), a new vintage shoot and a woodland group shoot for a local personal stylist - so expect many more updates once January is out of the way!

I have recently re-joined the wonderful postcrossing journey, after being away for far too long - it is a really lovely project to become a part of! My first postcard arrived today, which is exciting, and I received this lovely comment from the receiver (who was all the way in Lithuania):

Quite cheekily, I decided to send one of my own photography prints as a postcard and a link to my blogspot :D - well, can you think of a better way to network with the rest of the world?

A novel discovery

Whilst the rest of England has snow, we at Cornwall have more rain then we've had all month! However that didn't stop me from dragging Tom out on a 4-5 mile long walk to the woods and back!
Whilst passing through a quaint little village, we found this amazing phone box full with books!!!!

The books weren't quite to my taste but the whole thing left me quite speechless!
